I’m excited to announce that we launched our brand new jump rope curriculum at the Oklahoma AHPERD conference on Monday! I was invited to teach a workshop session for the PE teachers that were in attendance (along with a number of students from the University of Central Oklahoma). I love hanging around PE Teachers since they tend to be a rather high energy group to start with and they’re as passionate about physical activity as I am. If you’re running a jump rope team, creating a mentorship program is a great way to maximize the learning potential for your jumpers. Do you want your child (or student) to learn how to be self-disciplined and healthy? Of course you do. The University of Montreal just finished a study where they found that having students get involved in regular, structured extracurricular sports starting in Kindergarten will help them develop the discipline they need to engage effectively in the classroom.
